IFFCY announces jury of scriptwriting for professionals

The 30th Int’l Film Festival for Children and Youth announces jury of scriptwriting competition for professionals.

The 30th edition of the International Film Festival for Children and Youth has announced the jury panel of scriptwriting competition for professionals.

The director of the festival Alireza Rezadad selected Mehdi Organi, Homayoun Asadian, Kambozia Partovi, Fereydoun Amouzadeh-Khalili and Mehdi Sajjadeh-Chi to judge on the jury panel of the 7th scriptwriting competition for professionals, the information center of the event announced.

Born in 1953, Organi has been a member of the planning council of Iran’s broadcasting and the president of the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults Publication. He has been a member of Farabi Cinema Foundation and head of IRIB2.

Born in 1958, Asadian studied cinema at the dramatic arts faculty of Tehran University and then started his professional career as photographer of ‘The High School’ in 1986. He has directed a number of movies, including ‘The Sting’, ‘Gold and Copper’, ‘Kissing the Moon-Like Face’ and ‘A Special Day’.

Born in 1955, Partovi made ‘The Glasses’ which was a film for TV. He has directed or written a number of cinematic works, including ‘The Fish’, ‘Golnar’, ‘Transit Café’, ‘The Curtain’, ‘The Truck’, ‘Shirak’, ‘The Cycle’, and ‘The Night’. He has received some national and international awards from different film festivals, including film festivals in Berlin, Adelaide, Mar del Plata and Fipresci.

Born in 1959, Amouzadeh-Khalili has founded a number of Iranian popular magazines and wrote more than 30 books. He’s been head of literature association and the children and young adults department of Howzeh Honari as well as manager or editor of numerous cultural events.

Born in 1961, Sajjadeh-Chi started scriptwriting in 1989 with ‘Patal and Little Dreams’. He has written the scripts of several movies, including ‘The Invisible Man’, ‘Seven Stones’, and ‘The Rule of the Game’.

The International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults is organized annually by the Farabi Cinema Foundation in affiliation with the Iranian Organization of Cinema and Audiovisual Affairs.

The event celebrates films made for children and youth. It also supports emerging filmmakers with innovative cinematic visions and ideas.

The 30th edition of IFFCY is slated for June 30 to July 6, 2017 in the Iranian city of Isfahan.
